Dunlop Spark Grant

Dunlop Spark Grant

The Dunlop Spark Grant is named in honor of Will Dunlop, who brought a spark into so many people’s lives. Will was a remarkably loving individual who will be remembered by many ARP members for his caring and inspiring personality. These qualities were evident in Will’s scholarship as well, for he was dedicated to the pursuit of a deeper understanding of the ways that interpersonal relationships affect identity, narratives, and personality development. With humor and humility, Will sought to integrate the best aspects of his nature into his life’s work, and the evidence of his success was the joy he brought to those who knew him and his work.

The Dunlop Spark Grant provides funding to early career scholars (undergraduate, graduate, or up to 5 years post-doctoral) studying narrative, personological, or otherwise idiographic approaches to personality. It is used to support a variety of activities, including but not limited to training in narrative methods, data collection, narrative data transcription, and travel to present at conferences.  Applicants need not have any past experience with narrative approaches – Will was always invested in inviting new scholars (at any career stage!) into narrative methods.

Stay tuned for future calls for the Dunlop Spark Grant!
