ARP Secretary-Treasurer Report

by

Lynee Cooper

Sanjay Srivastava

ARP continues to grow by leaps and bounds. We currently have over 300 members for the 2009 membership year, our largest roster ever. The growing membership has helped us to take on a number of new initiatives, including launching our first standalone conference this summer in Evanston, and partnering with several other organizations to launch the new journal Social Psychological and Personality Science.

Many of you have probably noticed that we are now handling memberships and conference registrations through a third-party service called 123signup.com. We had a few kinks to work through as we redirected members and moved records from our old system, but the end result is a much smoother system to process payments (especially credit card payments), and to allow you to make address changes and other updates online. You can access the membership center by going to the ARP website (www.personality-arp.org) and clicking "Join/Renew," and then following the appropriate link for new or existing members.

Last but not least, the Secretary/Treasurer reins were recently handed over to Lynne Cooper (cooperm[at]missouri.edu). Lynne is the person to contact with any questions related to membership, conference registration, or other financial or recordkeeping matters. During the transition time, outgoing Secretary/Treasurer Sanjay Srivastava (sanjay[at]uoregon.edu) will be happy to handle any queries related to transactions through the first part of 2009.
